For this month’s blog, I decided to highlight my Top Reasons why Los Cabos is an amazing destination for incentive programs.

1.      Los  Cabos is known for luxury hotels whether it be a European Plan hotel or an All Inclusive – there is sure to be a property to fit every budget.

2.      San Jose del Cabo (or Puerto de San Bernabé given by the early Spanish Explorers) and known as the historic area or “old Baja”.  This area is much quieter providing art galleries, local restaurants and serene beaches, even a bird Sanctuary!  One of my favorite parts of Los Cabos.

3.      Cabo San Lucas, often referred to as “Cabo” is known for a vibrant night life and a favorite destination for celebrities.  For groups that like to be close to the busy “scene” Cabo San Lucas checks off the boxes.  It also has a great Marina offering many party catamaran, private yacht and group yacht excursions.

4.      World Class Sports Fishing – Marlin Capital of the World.  Every year the Brisbee Black and Blue is hosted in Los Cabos with staggering winnings in the several millions.  That is staggering.  So, for anyone who loves to fish, Los Cabos offers many opportunities – year round!

5.      Whale watching from December to April.  Here are the facts: Gray Whales and North Pacific Humpback Whales migrate starting in September for the 2 month journey from the Bering and Chukchi Seas of Alaska to this amazing Mexico destination. They have their babies and make their way back up to the Alaskan waters for the summer months.  The migration distance one way is between 5,000 to 7,000 miles. Whale Watching is an amazing excursion for your groups!

6.      The Sea of Cortez is known as the “Aquarium of the World”.  For anyone who loves to take part in seeing turtles and fish species, they can be found here!

7.      Culinary delights – Move aside the tourist restaurants and venture onto the local restaurants.  Los Cabos has many people who live there up to 6 months out of the year as summer or winter homes.  As a result, there are many true local restaurants that are not- touristy and amazingly delish.  For any group exploring Los Cabos as an option, I would work with the locals to uncover some of these amazing restaurants.  You might even spot a celebrity at one!!! 😊

8.      The famous El Arco.  This dramatic landscape (rock formation) and one of regions most photographed sites is a must see.  Although it can be seen from many hotels in the Cabo area, I would recommend taking a boat excursion that brings you closer to the Arc at sunset.  Wonderful Experience!

9.      The Sunsets!  I have been traveling to Los Cabos several times a year for 20+ years and I can never see too many sunsets.  I even have a photo (very large!) hanging in my office to always remind me of the beauty that Los Cabos provides.  As part of an attendee experience, a private sunset cruise with authentic cuisine is a must!

10. Over the last 15 years, Los Cabos has grown from a small hidden gem for celebrities from Hollywood to a luxury tourist destination.  The international airport has been through major renovations over the years and is now an international hub offering many flights every day of the week from major United States hubs.  This growth makes the air lift for groups incredibly easy.

I can provide more than 10 reasons to bring a group to Los Cabos! These would be the top 10 in my book.  In many ways, Los Cabos has been a second home to me.  I have made so many friends there over the years and it is such a beautiful destination to visit any time of the year.  Everything in Los Cabos is so authentic.  Just one more tidbit – if you do get a chance to go – head to the Mona Lis restaurant at sunset.  The bell is rung as the sun sets over the Arc.  What a beautiful experience!
