SITE Midwest is excited to feature our newest member, Andres Lopez Serrato, CITP. Andres is the Director of Business Development at Connect DMC. He’s worked in the industry for 14 years and is based in Spain, though works globally.

Why did you join SITE and/or SITE Midwest?
I have attended many SITE Global and chapter events and SITE Midwest organizes some of the most engaging events. They always make everyone feel welcome and many of my industry friends as well as clients are based out of the Midwest!
What is a fun fact about you that many of your industry colleagues don't know about you?
I come from the beach, my hometown is Cancun and while I very much enjoy the beach and our beautiful Caribbean weather. I am obsessed with snowboarding, I picked it up 7 years ago and while I am not a pro, I can't stop – won't stop. I guess we always want what we don't have?
Quick Fact Bio
I started my career in Cancun with the Apple Leisure group back in 2008, before moving to a sales position with Palace Resorts in 2013. Decided to taste new challenges when I moved to the Dominican Republic in 2015 with Connect DMC; I then spearheaded their opening in Mexico with the first office in Los Cabos in 2018, before moving to Europe where I worked for two 5* properties in Spain until the beginning of 2023, I am happy to be back with Connect DMC as a Director of Business Development. My journey with SITE started in 2016 when I became a member and since then I have attended over 40 SITE events around the world, served on the Young Leaders committee, co-chaired SITENite Europe in 2018 and served the SITE Canada board in 2020-2021, I am happy to be back this year as a SITE Midwest member!
